Special Lecture of Department of History “BK21” at CNU

A special lecture of the department of History “BK21” project held at professor conference room of The College of Humanities at Chonnam National University (CNU) on November 2rd.
This BK21 project of the department of History had a purpose that trains human resources of international standard leading the world and the region development, under the title “Area, Interchanging, Culture,”
The lecture was begun with the lecture of Ogura Kizo, professor of Kyoto University in Japan.
In addition ,professors attended lectures that professors Kurt A.Raaflaub, professor of Brown Universitiy in USA and Lee Jin-han, professor of Korea University and Jung Jae-hun, professor of Seoul National University.
Especially, Professor Jung Jae-hun was well-received by lecturing in “Space between opening and self-respect, Exchange of Civilization of the Chosun Dynasty and The Qing Dynasty.
Kim Bong-jung, the leader of BK21 hosted by department of History (Professor, Dept. of History) said, “History is divided into three groups that Korean history, Oriental history, Western history. Beyond some categories, such as direction to pursue BK21 project, many students should try to understand by interacting.”
He also mentioned that “By locating our position in the world, many students should lead a flow of globalization not surrounded by the stream of global times. So, these lectures are very special time that gives a chance to think about new historic viewpoints.”
