While reading the Cover Story, I found myself rethinking the rights of foreign workers in the context of our increasingly multicultural society. Recently, it has been found that various cases of rights infringements against foreign workers in Korea are insufficiently prevented by the country’s human rights laws. This article was both persuasive and meaningful because it not only pointed out problems but also proposed specific solutions. Throughout the article, I was forced to reflect on the workers’ rights human lives that our society often overlooks. I think the theme of the Cover Story in Issue 379 is more deeply connected to our daily lives than we might realize. This article revealed detailed facts that we had not known before.
