The 55th Chonnam National University General Student Council (GSC) election will take place online on Nov. 25. As of Nov. 10, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has confirmed the GSC’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates for this uncontested election: Yun Dong-kyu (Senior, Dept. of Family Environment and Welfare) and Kim Kyung-seo (Senior, Dept. of Early Childhood Education). The candidates’ campaign headquarters team is named “Green” (Draw). Team Green expressed their determination for the upcoming election, “During the election campaign period, we will work even harder to build trust with students through our Green Election Headquarters.” They also stated, “If we are elected to the 55th GSC, we will communicate with our fellow students with humility, while representing their voices to the university administration with confidence and determination.” CEC Chairman Park Se-eun (Senior, Dept. of Korean Language Education) said, “I hope the GSC election feels close to students rather distant, so that their votes can make university life a little more fulfilling.”
