Chonnam National University (CNU) held a farewell ceremony for outgoing 21st President Jung Sungtaek at Yongbong Hall, located in the Administration Headquarters, on Jan. 14. The ceremony was attended by numerous guests, including CNU officials, the Mayor of Gwangju, and the Gwangju Education Superintendent, all of whom gathered to celebrate his farewell.

Jung Sungtaek took office as president on Jan. 15, 2021, and led the university for four years. In his farewell speech, he expressed, "I repeat that the university is the greatest masterpiece created by humankind. In that context, the four years spent as president were a sublime time, during which I conveyed the masterpiece of cultural heritage that humankind produced."
