Creating Impact: The Importance of AI Education for Society
By Joselyn Cielo Ayjari Luna, Freshman, School of Mechanical Engineering
The Tribune has outdone itself once again, providing significant informative contributions regarding what is now shaping up to be a major AI scandal in Korea. While it is true that AI has marked an important step in the innovation-comfort race, it did not take long for its misuse to surface in the news and for victims to emerge. Issue 375 allowed me to abandon my preconceptions and to better understand the importance of AI literacy. Furthermore, the issue's introduction of how greatly Gwangju is benefiting from the use of artificial intelligence illustrates that what we truly need in these technological times are balance and well-established values, so we can enjoy AI's benefits without suffering from its consequences.
Diverse Narratives on Timely Issues
By Go Eun-chae, Sophomore, Dept. of Applied Plant Science
I think the cover photo of Issue 375 was appropriate. The artificial intelligence robot on the cover effectively conveys the reporter's intended message. I found it particularly meaningful because it addresses timely topics. I learned that the government and universities are trying to incorporate AI into daily life. I would like to commend the campus media for shedding light on these initiatives. Additionally, I was impressed by how they addressed the CNU presidential election issue through student interviews, clearly conveying what students expect from the new president and why their active participation is important. The article related to the “text hip” trend was also striking. It was fascinating to see how books are being revitalized, illustrating the changing value of reading. I cannot wait for future stories from the Tribune.
