62 researchers from CNU have been distinguished as belonging to the top two percent of scientists worldwide. CNU announced on Oct. 25 that the researchers are named in the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list released by Stanford University and Elsevier, a global scientific publisher and data analytics company. The list features leading experts from 22 fields and 174 sub-fields, utilizing the widely-used Scopus database to highlight researchers who made significant contributions to scientific inquiry through the end of 2023. The world’s top two percent of scientists are selected based on their influence, as determined by the citation counts of at least five published papers. Among the CNU researchers chosen, 27 scholars have been recognized for their career-long impact, while 58 have been included for their single-year performance in 2023. Notably, 23 researchers have been honored in both categories. A university official said, “This achievement reflects the university’s commitment to research excellence and contributions in scientific fields globally. With continued support, we aim to further enhance our reputation as a research-focused institution, building a strong foundation for future academic and scientific achievements.”
