Cho Kuk, a current leader of the Rebuilding Korea Party, lectured at Yongji Hall, Chonnam National University (CNU), on Sept. 10. As a part of a special lecture series hosted by the CNU General Student Council (GSC), lots of people were present, including CNU students and local residents, to listen to his lecture. He talked about what he regarded as important and where his party should be headed at the lecture. He said, “The role of politics is to represent the voice of those who suffer most. I’m doing my best to realize it.” After the lecture, he had a talk with Park Goo-yong (Professor, Dept. of Philosophy) for about 30 minutes on Cho’s political life. At the end of the talk, he promised, “I will change society by doing what I can do. I will do my work until the last moment.” Meanwhile, in the 22nd General Election held last April, Cho Kuk ran for the election as a proportional representation candidate and was elected as a member of the National Assembly.
