Chonnam National University’s students were awarded at the 29th National Model United Nations Conference of the Republic of Korea (NMUN-ROK) held at Gachon University from July 2 to 5. This year’s topics were “Climate Change and International Security (English),” “International Cooperation to Counter Global Health Crisis (Korean),” and “UN’s Role in Combating Challenges and Threats in Cyber Space (Korean).” Yoon Suk-mu (Sophomore, Dept. of Political Science and International Relations) received a grand prize on the topic “Climate Change and International Security).” Park Hye-won (Junior, Dept. of Political Science and International Relations) and Kang Yeon-oh (Junior, Dept. of Political Science and International Relations) were awarded an excellence prize on the topic “International Cooperation to Counter Global Health Crisis.” The Model UN Conferences have been held for students to experience international relationships and to understand and solve global issues since 1995, and about 270 students from 35 institutions around the nation attended and competed in this conference.
