CNU Selected for ‘Glocal University 30’ Initiative
CNU has been officially selected for the Ministry of Education’s “Glocal University 30” project, which aims to enhance the global competitiveness of regional universities as part of its ongoing balanced national development strategy. On Sept. 28, CNU announced that its proposals, “Human-Centered AI Talent Development Linking AI and Humanities” and “Specialization in AI and Future Mobility to Foster Regional Strategic Industries” received high evaluations during the selection process. With this achievement, CNU is poised to play a key role in realizing both Gwangju’s vision of becoming an “AI Capital” and Korea’s national goal of ranking among the world’s top three AI powers. CNU President Lee Keun-bae said, “This selection is the result of shared passion between the university and the local community,” adding, “We will cultivate human-centered AI talent and grow into a leading glocal university that shapes the future of both the region and the nation.”
