Lee Keun-bae Inaugurated as CNU's 22nd President
Lee Keun-bae, a professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, was officially inaugurated as the 22nd President of Chonnam National University (CNU) on Feb. 26. The university had been without a president since the retirement of his predecessor on Jan. 13. President Lee shared his sentiments about the inauguration during an interview with the Tribune on Feb. 27. “I felt relieved that I was appointed before the graduation ceremony. I will endeavor to return normalcy to the university, whose presidency had been vacant for six weeks.” He expressed his strong commitment to restoring the university’s former glory and emphasized the importance of effective communication skills. “Right after I became the president, I opened the doors of the president’s office. I do not want CNU’s students and staff to face communication barriers with me.” An inauguration ceremony is scheduled for the last week of March. His four-year presidential term will end on Feb. 25, 2029.
