2025 GSC Election Results Announced

The Team 2 Gieok (remember) candidate won the presidential election for the 2025 General Student Council (GSC) at Chonnam National University (CNU). The election was held online from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 26. Vote counting proceeded through a livestream on a social media platform, and it was possible to observe the vote counting site on the basement level of Chonnam National University library. The voter turnout was 41.91% percent of the voting-eligible population. Shin Seung-hwan (Senior, School of Polymer Science and Engineering) and Jin Yeong-chae (Senior, Dept. of Wood Science & Engineering) have been elected as the president and vice president of the 2025 GSC respectively. They earned 3236 votes, which was 54.15 percent of the total votes. “Our team is going to leave the joy of being elected aside, and we will advance to achieve our slogan ‘CNU in our memories, and CNU we want to remember.’ Also, we want to thank everyone in our campaign team and all voters of this election,” said the Gieok, elected team of the 2025 GSC, to the Tribune.
