CNU Outdoor Library Held Around Bongji

The Chonnam National University (CNU) Library operated an outdoor library event at Bongji on October 11 and 12. Over the two-day event, students and residents could read books freely and participate in various cultural activities. The library set up bean bags and picnic mats, allowing attendees to enjoy reading in the sunlight.

As part of the 2024 Gwangju and Jeonnam Read and Talk (GJRT) program, the "One Book Talk Concert" was held at the outdoor library. Author Yun Jung-eun discussed her book, "Marigold Mind Laundry," which was selected as the Book of the Year for the 2024 GJRT. From April 24 to May 23, residents of Gwangju and Jeonnam, along with CNU students, voted for this year's Book of the Year. The talk concert also included a Q&A session, allowing the audience to ask directly to the author.

Meanwhile, an orchestral performance and outdoor booths were featured on Oct. 12. Kim Tae-hyung (Senior, Dept. of Horticulture Science) shared his experience: "I was passing by Bongji on my way to the library when I discovered this event. It is great to have the opportunity to engage in outdoor activities while exploring the various booths. I really enjoyed the orchestral performance, and I hope more outdoor events like this will be on campus." Exhibitions and events such as 'Book Exchange,' 'MBTI Recommended Books by Type,' 'Reading Review Contest Winner Exhibition,' and ‘Best Reading Photo Challenge’ were prepared for the booths.
